St. Johnsbury
What to Expect:
This route follows the Passumpsic River, then heads up and over the hills of Waterford to Moore Reservoir, then loops around again (over more hills). There are incredible views of the local landscape as well as the distant White Mountains. One section of Duck Pond Road is paved and riders may encounter truck traffic. Parking is at the Trailhead Center in St. Johnsbury with easy access to restaurants and breweries for après-ride enjoyment.

Trailhead Center Parking: Driving north on US-5 toward downtown St. Johnsbury, turn right on Bay Street. Follow Bay Street for 0.6 miles to the Trailhead Center parking on the right.
St. Johnsbury is the gateway to the Northeast Kingdom. Stop in the historic downtown district to eat at the many eclectic dining options, visit the brewery or distillery or shop in the many downtown retail locations. St. Johnsbury also has fascinating cultural attractions like the Fairbanks Museum and the St. Johnsbury Athenaeum at the top of the hill. You will have to stay at one of the inns or hotels in order to have enough time to explore everything!
